Jessica Fulk’s No-BS Guide: Living in Kansas City – The Good, The Bad, and The BBQ

From Quaint Neighborhoods to Boho Tiny Home Trends: KC’s Got It All!

Hey there! Jessica Fulk here, your friendly neighborhood realtor and unofficial Kansas City cheerleader. Let’s chat about why KC is the bee’s knees (and maybe a few reasons why it might not be everyone’s cup of tea).

The Good Stuff (And There’s a Lot of It!)

Alright, let’s start with the good stuff. First off, affordability. Y’all, I’ve seen closets in New York that cost more than a whole house here. No joke! You can actually buy a home without selling a kidney. Crazy, right? And don’t even get me started on the food scene. BBQ that’ll make you wanna slap your mama (don’t actually do that, though). We’ve got more fountains than Rome (take that, Italy!), and green spaces that’ll make you forget you’re in a city. Oh, and for you culture vultures? We’ve got museums, theaters, and music venues galore. Jazz clubs that’ll transport you back in time, and modern art that’ll make you go “huh?” in the best way possible.

    The Not-So-Great (Because Nobody’s Perfect)

Now, I’m not gonna lie to you – KC’s got its quirks. The weather? It’s like Mother Nature’s playing roulette. You might need sunscreen and a parka in the same week. And yeah, public transit isn’t exactly our strong suit. If you’re coming from a big city, you might need to rekindle your love affair with your car. Traffic can be a pain, especially if you’re trying to get to the The Residences at Parkway Plaza during rush hour. But hey, it gives you more time to jam out to your favorite tunes, right?

    Neighborhoods: Something for Everyone

Whether you’re into the hustle and bustle of downtown, the artsy vibe of the Crossroads, or the suburban bliss of Northtown Kansas City, we’ve got a neighborhood for you. And if you’re feeling fancy? Check out the homes for sale Mission Hills Kansas. Just be prepared for your jaw to drop (along with your bank balance).

    The Jessica Fulk Bottom Line

Look, I’m not gonna tell you KC is perfect. But it’s pretty darn close. It’s a city with a small-town heart, where you can actually afford to live and have some fun money left over. Whether you’re into sports (Go Chiefs!), arts, food, or just want a place where you can stretch out without bumping into your neighbors, KC’s got you covered. Heck, we’ve even got twinplex vs duplex options if you’re into that kinda thing. So, is Kansas City a good place to live? In my totally biased opinion – heck yeah! Come on down, grab some BBQ, and see for yourself. Just don’t blame me when you fall in love and decide to stay forever. That’s on you, friend.
